This Privacy Policy describes how Clockwork - Time Tracker ("the App") handles information when you use the App. This policy is intended to comply with Apple App Store requirements and applicable privacy laws.
Information We Collect
2.1 Crash and Diagnostic Data

The App collects crash and diagnostic information solely for the purpose of identifying and fixing bugs and improving app stability.

This data is collected through Sentry, a third-party crash reporting service.

Crash data may include:
  • App state at the time of a crash
  • Device type and operating system version
  • Stack traces and performance metrics
  • Technical identifiers necessary to diagnose errors
This information is not used to identify you, and we do not attempt to link crash data to individual users.

2.2 Analytics Data

The App collects anonymous analytics data through PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to help us understand how the App is used and improve the experience.

Analytics data may include:
  • App performance metrics
  • Feature usage and product interaction data
  • Purchase history (e.g. which in-app purchases are made)
This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or cross-app profiling. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

2.3 Google User Data

If you choose to enable the Google Sheets integration, the App requests access to your Google account to write time entry data to a spreadsheet you select. The specific Google API scope used is the ability to create and edit Google Sheets files.

The App accesses only the data necessary to perform the export you initiate. It does not read, store, or access any other data from your Google account.
How We Use Information
Crash and diagnostic data is used exclusively to:
  • Detect and resolve software bugs
  • Monitor app reliability and performance
  • Improve overall app quality
Analytics data is used exclusively to:
  • Understand which features are used and how
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Monitor app performance
Google user data obtained through the Google Sheets integration is used exclusively to:
  • Write your time entry data to the Google Sheets spreadsheet you select
Google user data is not used for any other purpose.

We do not sell, rent, or share data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Google API Services Limited Use Disclosure
Clockwork's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, Clockwork:
  • Only uses Google data to provide the Google Sheets export feature you initiate
  • Does not transfer Google data to third parties except as necessary to provide the feature, with your consent, or as required by law
  • Does not use Google data for advertising or marketing purposes
  • Does not allow humans to read Google data unless with your consent, for security purposes, to comply with law, or when aggregated and anonymized for internal operations
Sharing and Disclosure
The App uses the following third-party services:

Sentry – crash reporting and diagnostics. Sentry processes crash data on our behalf in accordance with its own privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.

PostHog – anonymous product analytics. PostHog processes analytics data on our behalf. No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog.

Google API Services – when you enable the Google Sheets integration, your time entry data is sent to Google Sheets via the Google API. No Google user data is shared with any other third party.
Data Retention
Crash and diagnostic data is retained only for as long as necessary to investigate and resolve issues, after which it is deleted or anonymized in accordance with our service provider's retention policies.

Analytics data is retained in anonymized form by PostHog and is not linked to any individual user.

Google user data is not stored by Clockwork. Data is sent directly to Google Sheets at the time of export and is not cached or retained by the App.
Your Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
  • Request information about data collected
  • Request deletion of data where applicable
You can revoke Clockwork's access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account Permissions page.

Because we do not collect personal data directly, most other requests can be addressed by managing device settings or contacting Apple for CloudKit-related data.

Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
  • Names, email addresses, or contact information
  • Account credentials
  • Location data
  • Payment or financial information
  • Photos, contacts, or media
  • Health, biometric, or other sensitive personal data
  • Advertising identifiers
The App does not use data for tracking or cross-app profiling as defined by Apple.
CloudKit Data
Any user data stored via Apple CloudKit is handled directly by Apple and is subject to Apple’s privacy practices.

We do not have access to personally identifiable CloudKit account information and do not control how Apple processes or secures CloudKit data.

Overview
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to operate with minimal data collection. We do not collect personal data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or tracking purposes.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect diagnostic data, including the use of secure transmission and reputable service providers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
